Join a next-generation cloud development platform as a Senior Rust Engineer. This permanent role focuses on building scalable infrastructure, AWS integrations, and WebAssembly runtimes while contributing to open-source Rust projects. You’ll help bring “Infrastructure From Code” to the mainstream, shaping the future of developer productivity.
📍 LOCATION:
Europe (remote or hybrid with London office)
💡 ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Rust Engineer, you’ll work at the core of the platform, scaling backend systems to support thousands of concurrent users. You’ll enhance AWS integrations, contribute to the WASM runtime, and support deployment orchestration. You’ll also engage directly with the Rust community, helping maintain open-source projects and aligning engineering with user needs.
💼 WHAT YOU’LL DO AS A SENIOR RUST ENGINEER:
- Maintain and scale orchestration services for workflows and deployments
- Improve AWS integrations and expand supported cloud resources
- Contribute to the WASM runtime and user-space API
- Collaborate with API and framework teams to expose platform functionality
- Enhance deployment dependency injectors and configuration support
- Contribute Rust code to open-source projects, triage issues, and engage with the community
- Work remotely or in a hybrid setup with the London office
💻 TECH STACK:
- Rust (tokio, actix, async-std, futures, async/await)
- AWS (ELB, EC2, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda @edge)
- Kubernetes
- WebAssembly (WASM)
- Go, Python, JavaScript, Ruby (desirable experience)
🔎 WHO YOU ARE:
- 3+ years of experience with microservice web backends in performance-sensitive environments
- Proven Rust coding experience in production or open-source projects
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and Rust’s ownership model
- Familiar with async Rust ecosystem and modern crates
- Skilled in AWS products and edge computing
- Effective communicator, capable of remote collaboration within GMT ±3 timezones
- Bonus: Experience with WebAssembly, IaaS/BaaS, Agile workflows, or additional backend languages
