SENIOR/PRINCIPAL GO ENGINEER | UP TO £110K | UK (HYBRID – LONDON TRAVEL REQUIRED)

In this role, you’ll help build and scale the backend services powering innovative products for global brands and creators. UK only (remote-first, with London office travel 1–2 times per month)
💡 ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Go Engineer, you’ll contribute to the development of microservices and distributed systems that power a leading creative platform. You’ll work across the full feature lifecycle, from concept to deployment, and play a senior role in guiding technical discussions, mentoring, and supporting hiring as the engineering team scales.
💼 WHAT YOU’LL DO AS A SENIOR/PRINCIPAL GO ENGINEER:
- Contribute to backend services in Go, powering scalable products and microservices
- Lead by example, mentoring and managing engineers within your squad
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, design, and product
- Take features through their full lifecycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring
- Support technical hiring, from task reviews to interviews
- Shape technical discussions and architectural decisions
💻 TECH STACK:
- Go (Golang)
- Ruby, Python, PHP, or C (additional experience beneficial)
- React, Redux (frontend collaboration)
- Microservice-oriented architectures
- Distributed systems
🔎 WHO YOU ARE:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in Go or other backend languages
- 1+ years of commercial Go experience in distributed systems
- Strong grasp of design patterns and software engineering best practices
- Experienced with large microservice architectures
- Pragmatic in writing and applying unit and integration testing
- Bonus: Experience mentoring junior engineers
